Earth Corps : Camp Long work party

Join EarthCorps and the Green Seattle Partnership as we continue to work in the forest of Camp Long. Camp Long is one of Seattle's best kept secrets: located in West Seattle, this 68 acre park offers visitors an opportunity to enjoy nature, hike in the forest, camp overnight in rustic cabins, rock climb, and learn about Seattle's natural history. 

Youth under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult. All volunteers between the ages of 14 and 17 that are not with a parent or guardian must bring a filled out Youth Waiver the day of the event.

North Beacon Hill Greenbelt Restoration

We are working to restore this site to the beautiful forest it was meant to be. This work party will focus on removing ivy and blackberry vines from new areas and in tending to previously planted areas by weeding, removing blackberry shoots that are coming up and other maintenance activities. Come join the fun! All ages OK!

Dress for the weather. Wear clothes and close toed boots/shoes that will keep you warm and dry. Bring rain gear (if there is a possibility of rain) and a water bottle. Gloves and tools will be provided.

The entrance to the site is from the Hanford Stairs which are east of the intersection of 25th Avenue S and S Hanford.

Magnuson Reforestation President's Day

Help improve habitat and create replacement forest on a formerly denuded navy air base. Work to prepare for soon coming planing will be mostly invasive plant removal and may include other work such as mulching or weeding.. It is also an opportunity to enjoy nature and learn a bit about native plants and park history while doing satisfying work. Advance approval of leader is required for youth groups or children below high school age.

Meet along the north cross park trail just west of the crest of Kite Hill. A large wood chip pile is along the trail near the meeting place

Golden Gardens Work Parties

The Golden Gardens Park is a great opportunity for you to get your hands dirty and help restore this beautiful park. While at the work party volunteers will remove invasive weeds and help plant native species that help return the forest to a more natural ecosystem.

Wear sturdy pants, long sleeved shirts, boots, and rain gear. All tools, gloves, water, and snacks are provided.

Walk from parking lot toward dog park and we meet at restroom building.
